BVC Technology — Why It Works

BVC stands for Bottom Vertical Coil — and its vertical heating element makes this design an effective, long-lasting choice for MTL vaping. Unlike conventional horizontally-mounted coils, the BVC element sits vertically at the base of the coil head — directly in the path of the e-liquid flowing in from the four surrounding wicking ports. This means the coil is consistently and evenly surrounded by e-liquid, delivering more even heating, cleaner flavour, and a smooth, consistent draw with no dry spots or burnt taste throughout the coil's lifespan.

The 100% organic cotton wicking absorbs e-liquid efficiently without adding any unwanted flavour of its own — giving you a clean, neutral base that lets the character of your chosen nicotine salt or 50/50 e-liquid come through accurately and purely with every single puff. Resistance Options — Choosing the Right Coil

Aspire BVC coils are available across four resistance options, each delivering a distinct MTL experience:

1.2Ω BVC NS Coil — 10W–12W
Introduced with the Aspire Spryte AIO Kit, the 1.2Ω is specifically optimised for nicotine salt e-liquids. It offers a slightly warmer draw than the higher-resistance options, with a touch more vapour production, paired perfectly with the faster-absorbing nic salt formula for a smooth, satisfying hit without harshness. Choose this coil if you're running the Spryte with 20mg nic salts and want the best possible nic salt performance from the BVC platform.

1.6Ω BVC Coil — 3.0V–4.2V / approx. 6–11W
A slightly warmer, slightly airier MTL draw than the 1.8Ω — still firmly in tight MTL territory but with a fraction more warmth and flavour presence that many vapers find more satisfying for all-day use. This is the coil most commonly pre-fitted in the Aspire K2 kit when purchased new and performs well across most standard fixed-output batteries without variable wattage adjustment. A great all-round option for vapers who want a clean MTL draw with a bit more life. Best with 50/50 freebase and 20mg nic salt e-liquids.

1.8Ω BVC Coil — 3.0V–5.0V / approx. 3–6W
The most popular and most widely used coil in the entire BVC range — and for very good reason. The 1.8Ω delivers the tightest, coolest, most cigarette-like MTL draw of the standard BVC options, with minimal vapour production and a clean, accurate flavour profile that feels completely natural and familiar to anyone who has smoked cigarettes. If you're making the switch from smoking and want the draw that feels closest to a cigarette, start here. Most vapers running the 1.8Ω are happiest at around 3 to 6W — no complicated setup required. The cooler draw also makes it a particularly comfortable choice with 20mg nic salts. Best with 50/50 freebase and 20mg nic salt e-liquids.

2.1Ω BVC Coil — 5.0V–6.0V / approx. 11–16W
The highest resistance option in the BVC range — delivering the tightest, coolest draw of all four options and requiring the highest voltage output to perform at its best. Ideal for vapers running variable voltage devices at the higher end of their output range who prefer an ultra-restricted, ultra-cool MTL draw. A more niche choice than the 1.6Ω and 1.8Ω but a brilliant option for vapers who know exactly what they want. Best with 50/50 freebase and 20mg nic salt e-liquids.

How to Install and Prime Your BVC Coil

BVC coils are threaded and screw directly into the tank base. Unscrew the base of your compatible Aspire clearomiser or tank, remove the old coil by turning it anticlockwise, and screw in the new BVC coil clockwise until it seats firmly—without over-tightening.

Before vaping, prime the coil by applying two to three drops of e-liquid directly onto the exposed cotton wicking ports around the coil body, then let it soak for two to three minutes before your first puff. This priming step is important—it ensures the organic cotton is fully saturated before the heating element fires and prevents dry hits that can shorten coil life and leave a burnt taste. Never vape immediately after fitting a fresh coil without priming first.

When to Change Your Coil

Standard Aspire BVC coils typically last between one and two weeks of regular daily vaping, though lifespan depends on e-liquid used, vaping frequency, and chosen wattage. The most reliable sign that your coil needs replacing is a change in flavour — a muted, flat, or slightly burnt character is your clearest indicator that the cotton is spent. A gurgling sound during a draw or a noticeable reduction in vapour production are secondary signs. When any of these appear, swap in a fresh coil from your pack of five, and you're immediately back to clean, accurate flavour.

E-Liquid Compatibility

All standard Aspire BVC coils are designed for use with 50/50 VG/PG e-liquids and nicotine salt e-liquids at 10mg or 20mg strength. The organic cotton wicking is optimised for the thinner consistency of these formulas, ensuring fast and efficient saturation at the resistance levels these coils operate at.

All 10ml nicotine salt e-liquids at QSS Vape — including the full Elux Salt, Crystal Salt, Just Juice Bar, Pixl, Riot X, and OXVA OX Passion nic salt ranges — are perfectly suited to the Aspire BVC coil system and will deliver clean, accurate flavour and a satisfying throat hit at the recommended wattages.

Don't use high-VG e-liquids (70VG or above) with standard BVC coils — the thicker consistency will not wick efficiently through the organic cotton at these resistance levels, leading to dry hits and premature coil failure.

The majority of deliveries require a signature to confirm receipt. If a signature cannot be obtained, the carrier may ask a neighbour to sign for the delivery. Deliveries that require a signature will not be left if a signature cannot be obtained.

If the carrier leaves the delivery with a neighbour or at your local post office, they will leave a card for you telling you where it is. You may, when placing your order online, specify a different delivery address than your payment address if this is more convenient for you.
